Therefore, you are considering obtaining AWS certification. That’s great! There is a high demand for cloud computing skills. If you want to take your career to a new level or jump into a new field, then the right AWS certification can help you open the door to some life-changing opportunities.

But where do you start? AWS provides ten separate certificates, distributed in four different levels. First, it seems daunting to find where to start and which AWS certification is right for you and your career goals. Fortunately, once you figure out what it is, the path usually becomes clear.

Before studying different certifications, it is important to take a moment to explore what certification is and what is not.

  • Certification is a test of knowledge, because you have enough ability to pass the exam.
  • Certification is not proof of experience-it is no substitute for actually working in the cloud.
  • Certifications open the door: they can guide you through interviews or determine promotion opportunities.
  • Certification is not a gold ticket and does not guarantee work. They can help you succeed, but you must succeed from there.
  • Certification is very valuable: the average salary of AWS certification holders exceeds $100,000 per year.
  • Certification is not only about gaining power, it can also verify your knowledge and help ensure that the team has a common “language” in the cloud.
  • You can think of authentication as a springboard. This is essential to help you reach a new level, but the actual scope depends on you.

Explore AWS certification

Let’s take a look at the different authentications provided by Amazon Web Services. As of 2019, there are ten different certifications distributed in four levels of experience: basic, assistant, professional and professional.

  • AWS Entry Level Certification
  • Certification
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner-Basic
  • Range: 10
  • Depth: 2
  • Prerequisite: None
  • Recommended experience: 6 months of AWS and industry knowledge

If you want, it may be: you need to understand the basics of the cloud and the advanced working principles of AWS, but you will not be blinded by the implementation.

Every journey starts somewhere. For AWS, the starting point is core certification. Since there is only one certification at the base level, we will only combine the discussion about levels and individual certifications.

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner-Basic

The AWS Cloud Practitioner certification provides you with a high-level introduction to AWS. It does not involve any specific services, but outlines the structure of AWS.

For anyone unfamiliar with cloud computing, we recommend that you use the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner course as the best entry. As you delve into the internal workings of AWS, this will help you build the foundation you need.

Ready to get certified? Prepare for the exam with our AWS certified Cloud Practitioner course.

  • AWS Assistant Level Certification
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect-Assistant
  • AWS Certified Developer-Assistant
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator-Assistant
  • Range: 8
  • Depth: 4
  • Recommended experience: One year of experience in solving problems and implementing solutions on AWS.

If you are willing, this may be the case: you will use AWS with any capacity and need a solid foundation to really work in the cloud.

If you plan to work on AWS with any practical ability, then the Associate Member level certification should mark where your journey really begins. AWS Cloud Practitioner provides a solid conceptual foundation, but in terms of daily deployment, AWS quasi-level certification is a truly viable tool.

AWS Certified Solution Architect-Assistant

The AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Assistant certification provides you with an extensive overview of AWS and provides you with a valuable foundation upon which you can build all other knowledge that will be learned in the future. There are reasons to say that it has won the first cloud certification for four consecutive years.

CSA-Assistant certification focuses on core AWS services such as identity and access management (IAM), virtual private cloud (VPC), S3 and EC2. Studying these core services will enable you to fully understand how AWS addresses security, networking, data storage, and computing capabilities.

For anyone unfamiliar with cloud computing, we recommend that you obtain the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification before recommending the AWS Solution Architect-Associate Course to us. Developers and system administrators may want to go directly to the developer-assistant or SysOps administrator-assistant certificate to provide you with more functions, but we still recommend that you first pass the solution architect-assistant.

Ready to get certified? Prepare for the exam with our AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Assistant course.

AWS Certified Developer-Assistant

After all, you might think that this certificate is for developers, but it is actually for anyone who uses AWS.

In terms of focus, this AWS certification can take you to a deeper level of services like Dynamo DB, Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, and SNS, but not too deep. It also hopes that you have an understanding of how to use these services and how to show these services to the outside world through APIs and SDKs.

This is another certification we recommend to everyone. In fact, we recommend that you pass the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Exam-Joint Exam immediately. There is a lot of overlap between certificates, and putting them together makes it much easier to complete quickly.

Ready to get certified? Prepare for the exam with our AWS Certified Developer-Assistant course.

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator-Assistant

The certification is also somewhat misleading. It is not only for SysOps administrators. Suitable for anyone who processes transactions on AWS. This exam will delve into CloudWatch. Passing this certification can give you a deeper understanding of the actual situation in the AWS architecture.

A wise word! SysOps Admin is widely regarded as the most difficult AWS Associate certification. However, it is really valuable to complete the training of all employees before taking the more difficult professional exams. Professionals hope that you can understand all the knowledge of the college level exam, such as the back of the hand, so skipping one, especially the most difficult one, may bite you again.

  • AWS professional certification
  • Certification
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect-Professional
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional
  • Range: 10
  • Depth: 8
  • Recommended experience: Two years of comprehensive AWS experience, with extensive experience in design, operation, and troubleshooting.

It may be suitable for you in the following situations: you already have experience using AWS, you have mastered the AWS assistant level certification, and are ready to take the next step.

If you are not sure about getting ready for AWS professional certification, then you may not have! These exams are not a joke, they represent the pinnacle of AWS certification, with a wide range and focus. You must know a lot of knowledge!

AWS Certified Solution Architect-Professional

AWS Certified Solution Architect: Professionals are the pinnacle of AWS’ overall experience. To have a CSA-Pro certificate, you must have the ability to use and make full use of any AWS function or service. In addition, because you have an in-depth understanding of the ecosystem, it will be easier to keep up to date as AWS continues to change.

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional

DevOps is committed to combining development, operations and quality awareness to guide the development of the system. This review reflects this, and does require you to consider not only static systems deployed at once, but also systems that change and evolve over time.

Although CSA-Pro is an all-encompassing certification, DevOps engineers-professionals are actually researching specific areas, such as deployment and lifecycle (and services such as CloudFormation and OpsWorks). Overall, its scope is much narrower.

Guru Tip: There is room for ordering. DevOps-Pro is a valuable springboard between an assistant-level certificate and a solution architect-professional certificate, so on the one hand, it is a good idea to pass this certification first (we think it is very easy to pass the CSA exam -Pro) on the other hand, There is some overlap between DevOps-Pro and CSA-Pro, and many people find it valuable to learn together.
